The York University President’s International Scholarship of Excellence is a prestigious scholarship that recognizes and supports exceptional international students. The scholarship is open to undergraduate students from all countries who have applied to a direct-entry program at York University.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for this prestigious award, you must come through the following criteria:

You must be a foreign student who needs a study permit to study in Canada.
You must have submitted an application for a York undergraduate degree program starting in the fall of 2023.
You must not have attended any previous universities or colleges and must have applied to York immediately out of high school or no later than two years after graduation.
You must have an outstanding academic record and an “A” average or above
You must have exhibited leadership via volunteerism in the community or through accomplishment in the arts, sports, or other fields of personal achievement.
You must have your high school make the nomination (each school may only make one nomination).
The nominee will be considered for the York University President’s International Scholarship of Excellence, the International Circle of Scholars Scholarships, the Global Leader of Tomorrow Award, and the York University Academic Excellence Scholarships.
Candidates must authenticate that they are the student from that school who has been nominated by speaking with their guidance counselor, principal, or administration about the York International Student Scholarship & Award Application.
The candidate must include the nominator’s name, title, contact information, email address, and phone number in the application form.
You must submit at least one letter of recommendation at the time of application.
